Life has a funny way of teaching us the lessons we are supposed to learn. As I strolled through the silent snowy streets today, I realized that these lessons I have learned over the passed few months were always there waiting for me. I had to laugh out loud (and then looked around to see if anyone saw this woman walking in the middle of the street laughing to herself), because life is so simple that sometimes we forget. We forget what we are suppose to learn, but also what we’re meant to teach others.

So, it’s time. Each of us have the power to change the world. Everything you do sets the course for a series of events. Some will directly impact you and some will not. But they still come from you. And that is why I need your help.

Starting in February, I’m launching Revolution! Revolution! is an interactive transmedia project that will empower each and every one of us to help facilitate change in some way, no matter how small. Whether its change at home, in your community, globally or just within you- you will have the tools you need to be the change you wish to see in the world. We will walk step-by-step and do it together. Sound good?

Parts of this project will include:

The Revolution Roadtrip: From Boston to SXSW and back again. A team of “social do-gooders” will travel in a eco-friendly van (sponsored by GreenVans) and collaborate with various cities and towns to help facilitate change in those communities.

How You Can Help: If you are within the Boston, New Haven, or the New York area and would like to come on the roadtrip in March, let me know. I have room for 10 people and I will have more detailed information about the trip coming soon!

Songs of the People: While on The Revolution Roadtrip and throughout the year, I will also be collaborating with local artists and will feature the works we create. One of these collaborative works will be…..

Revolution! 140: The Opera. We all have a story to tell. And that story is told through every moment and interaction we have. Commissioned by Jeff Pulver for the 140 Characters Conference in New York (June 15th and 16th), this 5-10 minute interactive piece will be comprised of audience participation (online and offline), as well as feature members of the global community in order to tell “our story” as we know it: in 140 characters.

How You Can Help: I will be looking for artists and musicians to join me in creating these pieces, as well as creating derivative works based on each experience. I will also be looking for fellow curators to curate tweets that can be used throughout the opera. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me.

Revolution! Solutions: Each month on my blog, we will outline a problem facing us today and will have a call out for solutions to each problem. People will be guest blogging on the topic and each of you are invited to post your own thoughts and solutions to that issue.

How You Can Help: Join Us! We are all in this together and the more we brainstorm solutions, the more likely we will be to find solutions that work!

Revolution! The Book: This will be a step-by-step how to guide to show people tools and techniques that they can implement to create positive change within their community and individual lives. It will also be filled with real life stories of ordinary people who had worked with others to create extraordinary change.

Though there are MANY more parts to this project, I think that gives you a taste for what’s in store (and on my plate for the next few months). I would love your feedback, ideas, and help!
