A limited budget requires strategic action on your part; and while it’s not easy, starting a business for under $100 can be done on limited means. I’ve been there, and I have made it happen. So can you!

My story and why you NEED this book

I started Wild Women Entrepreneurs (Wild WE®) in May 2005 with only $100. Though I am an opera singer by profession, I wanted something that I could take on the road with me, and I wanted a way to help the everyday woman. That was how Wild WE® was conceived. Three years later, we have 55 chapters running in seven countries. Not bad for $100!

But my story is not so cut and dry – not by a long shot. I trace my “pull yourself up” attitude back to my adolescence, when my mother’s alcoholism forced me to start working at the age of thirteen. As the sole breadwinner in the family, I couldn’t see any way out of the situation. When you are forced to live day to day, it is hard to see beyond the next couple of hours, much less years into the future.

To top things off, people would constantly tell me that a different life – a better life — was not a possibility. “No, you can’t do that,” they’d say. Whether it was going to college, creating my own major, becoming an opera singer, becoming a minister, or creating revolutionary social change through the largest global women’s organization in the world, I have always come up against what seemed to be insurmountable odds. I transformed the energy from every obstacle, from every person who tried to stop me, from every person who told me “No,” into positive, motivational energy. I used this energy to push me when I felt I didn’t have the strength to go any further, and I used it to keep my passion. Most importantly, I used this positive energy to prove that anything is possible, and that I should live by this mantra every single day.

That is what this book is about. In 2005, I started Wild Women Entrepreneurs® with $100. When I began, people laughed at me and did not take me seriously. “What does an opera singer know about business? What can you teach people?” they’d ask. Some three years later, I am happy to tell these doubters about our 55 chapters in seven countries….and that this is just the beginning.

In this book, I will show you what I have learned along the way. I will teach you innovative short cuts, so that you don’t waste hours of your time, or thousands of dollars, trying to figure it out.
